Issever Bahri Lookbook Spring/Summer 2014

Peel yourself away from your desk and dance. Dance to rock and roll. Do the twist. Be alluring and free, yet really damn cool. If you’re not inspired yet, take a look at the spring/summer 2014 lookbook from Issever Bahri to spark your imagination.

The German duo have created a modern Mod girl- toeing the line between trendy and classic their collection captures the spirit of the 60’s without being retro. The cuts, hemlines and color blocking all have the trappings of the decade, but somehow manages to feel fresh and relevant. Items like black and white leather pants or a silk sheath dress are seriously bending the boundaries of the style-time continuum.

Thrown in to the mix of modest daywear is a great use of sheer fabrics and netting, which add just the right amount of edge. Particular love should be showered on the mesmerizing citrus-inspired kaleidoscope pattern. It’s wildly fun, and energetic without being overwhelming.

A certain amount of praise should also be given to the creative team who put this lookbook together. There is no “typical” studio shoot here – these images wonderfully echo the direction of the collection, showing off just how much personality the clothing has. The goal of lookbook should be to make the viewer imagine them self in the clothing. Issever Bahri manages to make the viewer imagine how they will feel in the clothing. I feel like dancing.

PS – is anyone else girl-crushing on model Louise? She is the perfect choice of cool to represent the collection, not to mention the serious hair-envy she inspires.
