We came together to shoot our summer editorial (loosely) inspired by the incredible movie by Luca Guadagnino “I am Love” which absolutely everyone needs to see. Tilda Swinton is extraordinary in it, and it’s really mind blowing that she manages to deliver her performance entirely in a language not her own. For our shoot we were interested in weaving pulp fiction/retro housewife elements into the story, so we cast Michel Pilon (with Elmer Olsen Models) for her uncanny resemblance to Judy Garland (or is it just me?). The shoot was definitely a marathon fourteen hour day. This is mostly due to Michel Pilon’s stick on nails that, well, simply wouldn’t stick. It was raining nails all day in a most unladylike manner. I’m sure Judy would have rolled in her grave.
