Summer ends officially on September 22nd, but for many of us August is the symbolic end of the line. For those of us unwilling to let go of the summer sun, swimwear becomes more than just a convenient coverup for the beach. It becomes a way of keeping the summer sunshine close, and being ready for the beach despite classes and full-time work. For those of you who don’t yet have the heart to let summer go, incorporating swimwear pieces into your wardrobe, even as the weather cools, is like wearing lingerie under your work uniform. Here photographer Maria del Rio captures the remarkable flexibility of swimwear when your heart is torn between the beach, staying warmer, and looking cool. Wardrobe styling by Pauline Montupet from Le Point, makeup and hair by Preston Nesbit. Swimwear provided by Eidon. Special thanks to Lola Creative Agency and model Kaitlyn with Stars Model Management.
