Noon by Noor Spring 2014

For the Spring 2014 season, designers Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya were inspired by the nature, or more specifically the awe-inspiring Tree of Life, a 400 year old tree in their home country, Bahrain. The tree has captures the world’s imagination, as its survival remains steeped in mystery.

The Tree of Life inspired the designers to look at the natural beauty in the world, thus incorporating floral and leaf prints into this collection, translating into elegant, beautiful pieces enhanced with lace panels, floral appliques and ornate embellishments.

As Shaikha Noor describes, “Spring 2014 is a continuation on from Resort but this season the collection is more polished and sophisticated with hints of that playfulness from the previous season.” The designers envision the Spring 2014 woman as feminine, elegant and confident. She exudes sophistication and a natural confidence in her fashion choices and has a strong sense of self, yet she is also aware of her fun, youthful side which is evident in the way she mixes bold prints and experiments with color.
Silhouettes in the collection range from voluminous jackets and culottes to pencil skirts and dresses. In each Noon By Noor collection, silk in its various forms is always prevalent. Flattering to the feminine shape, it is also a breathable fabric that works well in a hot climate such as Bahrain. This season, the designers have worked with a honeycomb lace and produced some pieces with lace and leather combinations for the first time, creating a great balance between sophisticated and sporty. As Shaikha Haya explains, “In addition to silk, we also like to experiment with leather and luxury skins (such as lambskin). For Resort, we used pink lambskin leather so this season we’ve continued with colored leather, but this time we’re using purple.”
