Humanity Instead of Vanity from Dermablend

We are all terrified of our imperfections – scars, acne, thinning hair, anything that deviates from those glossy images we’re so used to seeing all around us. Beauty campaigns will frequently feature words like “Flawless” and “Perfect” in big bold letters reminding us to cover up our skin. If it’s not wrinkles, then it’s dark circles or zits, we often end up feeling bullied by cosmetics campaigns. That’s why this Dermablend Professional campaign is so brilliant. In an empowering move by Montreal based ad agency Agence Tuxedo, two models give a beautiful heart-felt account of the power of makeup to heal internal scars, by covering external ones. The beauty industry by nature is about vanity, but in this campaign we see that it can also be about humanity.

  1. This is a wonderful message. I love Dermablend products and I teach camouflage to my students at TAFE. I am going to share this video with them to show just how powerful camouflage makeup is for self esteem. Great work!
